Develop climate-positive operations supporting a low-carbon economy
Bracell has set a target to reduce carbon emissions per metric ton of pulp produced by 75% by 2030. In 2024, our carbon emissions per metric ton of product stood at 0.208 tCO₂e/adt.
As part of our climate strategy, we have set a target to remove 25 MtCO₂e between 2020 and 2030 through our eucalyptus plantations and protected native forests. In 2024, our removals totaled –4.3 MtCO2e.
We are working toward a
75%
reduction
in carbon emissions per metric ton of product
In addition to our 2030 targets, we continue to invest in our operations to advance a low-carbon economy.
Our new tissue paper plant in Lençóis Paulista (São Paulo) began operations with several sustainable features. The facility includes a 50,000-square-meter solar array that generates clean, fossil fuel-free, renewable energy.
Strategically built adjacent to our pulp mill, the new facility receives raw material through pipelines, eliminating the need for truck transport and the drying stage. This setup reduces energy consumption and helps lower greenhouse gas emissions per metric ton of product manufactured.
